The gardens are producing and we are putting together baskets for our first few CSA shares. This week's selection included beets, baby carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, garlic, peppers, corn, basil, and "bloody butcher" heirloom tomatoes. (We picked it for the name, but the tomato is tart and tasty!) One basket even got a bonus package of tomatillos. I'm hoping the recipient will create something delicious and share the recipe!Vegetables we're looking forward to as summer progresses: kale, more of the tender French filet green beans, eggplant from very happy late-season bargain plants - and of course lots of peppers and tomatoes.
